"Cinema by the Sea"

Promoting film appreciation and the artistic growth of independent filmmakers
A three-day, block-long celebration of Long Beach’s rich and diverse culture, the Long Beach Film Festival is a collaboration between the Long Beach Cinematheque and the independent businesses of 4th Street. We will be working with community filmmakers, artists, arts and education organizations, and other local institutions in curating three days of film, music, art, and culture along Retro Row. Far from just a series of films screening at The Art, the Long Beach Film Festival will be converting businesses into screenings rooms, galleries, and centers for art – businesses such as {open} bookstore, inretrospect vintage, and Lola’s Mexican Cuisine will be opening their doors to cinema, spoken word, performance art, music, and a variety of other events and creative media. Our aim is to make this the first of an annual event, and to expand this celebration of culture throughout our great city.
